Sending in applications before the deadline

My mom heard from several people that colleges like when applicants send in their applications early because it "shows they're really interested". In my opinion, it's better to take the time to really perfect your application and colleges shouldn't punish/reward you for time before the deadline. Does what my mom heard have any truth to it?

It makes no difference to the college for regular admission when they receive your application. Just make sure they get it on time by allowing a few days for problems with the mail....etc.

I agree with mixer ... you can tell your mom that she has it wrong. It makes no difference when it comes in so long as it's in before the deadline.
