Sending in resumes

the common app is terribe for providing enough room for ec’s and their significance to you. have any of you at penn or that have applied to penn submitted resumes or comprehensive ec’s lists along with the paper app you send back to penn.

thanks

I did my application online (no common app then) and I mailed them an activity sheet later. I think that they actually encouraged it on the app. Make sure if you do send it that it is helpful. For an activity sheet, give a brief description of the organization or activity and your role within it. You don't want to bog them down with information, but it is helpful to clarify some activities that they are not familiar with or that you can't do justice in a tiny, character-limited text box.

resumes are not a requirement but they are always nice :)

I don't think they spend too much time on the resume (just a glance) but it would not hurt!

Anyone know how long a good resume/activity would be?

Mines about 2 pages single spaced.

ok basically my only feasible ticket into a top tier school will be my ec's (specifically debate) how do i package it so i give enough detail without getting it bogged down, ill post it below, any advice?

For ideas about organizing EC into a sort of resume, you could look at books like "Acing The College Application" or " Rock Hard Apps". They must be in local libraries or available used cheaply. It does take some work to present activities in a useful and clear way. Your guidance counselors may have advice? Good luck.

How about removing the "only" from your achievements? The admissions officers will recognize that being in the top 18 or 5 nationwide is an accomplishment.
