Sending material before application

If I send my transcript and scores before the school receives my application or any of my information, would they save it until my I submit my application?

Of course they will.

The usual practice, I believe, is that when they receive materials from someone, they create a file for them if one does not exist. When the application comes, they'll add it to the file.

I still recommend, no matter what order things are sent, that everyone contact the department after a reasonable amount of time to be sure everything has been received. I had things mysteriously disappear, not be received, etc., even when all was sent together in one envelope. They don't always contact the applicant when things are missing. GRE scores are notorious for not arriving where they are supposed to be.

You mean if I pay the $20 to have my scores delivered to a university and they're mysteriously displaced, I have to pay another $20 to have them resent? Gyp!

^That and you'll probably have to pay extra for rush fees, too.

I strongly agree with DespSeekPhD's advice here.
