Can anyone tell me how long it takes to send SAT score reports after you get your scores online? Would we be able to see my D's score before deciding whether to send them and still have them arrive by early action Nov. 1 deadlines?

Particularly when huge numbers of test takers are ordering scores sent (which is usually the case right after October scores come out), it can often take a week or even longer after ordering them before they are sent. For certain colleges, such as Illinois and Michigan, which want scores to be in their hands by November 1 for early action, you should designate the college in the applicaiton for the test as one to automatically receive scores upon release and thus send them blind. In that situation the test scores are actually sent a day or two before you even get them on line. For most colleges with Nov 1 application deadlines for EA or ED, the test scores can arrive after Nov 1 and you can wait until receipt of scores to order them sent. In fact, majority of those colleges even accept Nov SAT test scores for EA or ED. If you are having trouble determining the issue when searching a college’s site, simply look to see if it accepts the October ACT for EA or ED. If it does, then it accepts any test scores well into November because the ACT scores are not even released until the second week of November. (Illinois and Michigan, mentioned above, tell you on their sites that the October ACT test is too late for EA.)

Thanks, drusba. I don’t see this level of detail on most of the college websites we’re looking at, but they’re mostly small LACs, so maybe we will have to email them all to ask. But good to know most will accept them. If not, she can just use the one she has.
