I’m not sure if this is the right category to ask this under, but I’m planning on enrolling at Bryn Mawr College and have to send my official test scores soon. Only I didn’t self-report my AP Chemistry exam from last year on my application because I got a 1, but if I send my official AP score report now it would include this score. Is there a way to prevent BMC from seeing this score? If not, would it affect my acceptance or scholarship at all? I doubt they would kick me out for one bad score but I just want to make sure.
You can omit it, for a fee. But it is not worth the time or money. They clerical processing will not care and your scores do not impact your admissions.
I’m pretty sure you have the option to select which scores to send, but there’s no downside to just sending them all, IMO.
Keep in mind the scores go to the Registrar and not Admissions. Typically these are completely different offices even at tiny schools. Besides, your AP Chemistry course is listed on your transcript. I suspect most AOs would assume if your score isn’t reported, more than likely you got a 1 or a 2. You were accepted anyway, so I don’t think the 1 will change any opinions about how successful you will be once you arrive in the fall. Also I think you will get a pass given the exam was taken during the beginning of the pandemic. There are all sorts of reasons why the score won’t reflect what kind of student you are.
