I know that Brown requires either the SAT and any two Subject Tests or the ACT w/ Writing. However, can I send my scores for both tests? I couldn’t find anything on the Brown website that said whether or not they would accept both scores, it says one or the other. Has anybody sent scores from both tests, or does anyone know if this is alright?

Also, this is a question for all schools in general: Can I send my standardized test scores before they receive any other part of my application? I want to get the scores sent now because they might take a few weeks and I will not be done with some applications for a while.

If I can remember, Brown requires the SAT I along with two SAT II subject tests or the SAT I along with the ACT with the Writing test option. (Hope I didn't read and interpret that wrong). I think it's unfair though, that some schools require the ACT with the Writing test, because it is only offered two times a year: October and April.

Alright, let me clarify a few things. First, you can take the ACT w/ Writing on ANY of the national test dates, not just in October and April. I don't know where you got that information but it's wrong. Second, I wasn't asking whether or not they said SAT or ACT, I know it says "or". What I was asking is if anybody has had experience sending both scores (as in, if you send your scores from both the SAT and ACT, will they consider both in evaluating your application)? The reason I'm wondering is because my ACT score is significantly better than my SAT score, but I did very well on my SAT Subject Tests (800 Math II and 750 Literature) and I think that those scores might help my admission chances if viewed along with my ACT score.

Of course you can send them both. They're not going to cover up your SAT II scores when they look at your application because they've already read your ACT score. I'm pretty certain they'll consider it, hopefully officially, but i'm sure if not officially, then subconciously. On another note, I really don't see how the ACT 'covers' two SAT IIs. Doesn't make sense.

the science section substitutes for them i guess. besides, ACT is both knowledge based and reasoning based like the SAT IIs and SAT I, respectively.

So you sound really snobby in your response to what I posted (Cavalier07). I research as best I can, but honestly it's not my fault if I have a "guidance" counselor who sees a chiropractor once a week and smokes about 3 packs of cigarettes a day.

haha sorry, I didn't mean to come off as snobby at all. I let off steam through CC and often I'm just venting some pent up anxiety from doing all these apps. I sounded like a jerk and I'm sorry about that.
