I'll be graduating in 2010. I read about the experimental score-picking grade report option the CB is going to allow starting with my class. Their website doesn't reflect any of the changes, however (FAQ still says you can't pick which scores are sent). One article said the procedure would start in March 2009 - what does this mean for scores on tests taken prior to the March 2009 administration? I took the SAT I once as a sophomore, and I plan on taking it a few more times. I'd like to sign up for the upcoming January administration, but I don't know how the CB will be handling those scores.

Yeah this new score choice thing is confusing the heck out of me.

Although I am not 100% sure, I believe that this system will apply to you since you will not be sending a score report to colleges until Fall of 2009. Colleges will only see the scores you send on your score report. Before (before this new system), all scores were included on your score report. Now you have the oppurunity to be selective and choose which scores you want colleges to see and which ones you dont.

Since you are sending your score report in Fall 2009, you will be able to send which scores you want, regardless of whether or not the scores were received prior to March 2009.

I am also in the class of 2010 and I am planning on taking an SAT I in January. I believe that colleges wont see the score unless I attach it to my score report in fall next year. So even though I will take the test before March 2009, I can still be selective about it.

That might be wishful thinking. I mean, it's the only thing that makes sense, but you never know with the CB.

I called CB twice to make sure I understood this. The March 2009 date is when the policy takes effect, regardless of when you actually took the test/tests. So, if you took an SAT or Subject Test before March 2009, you may choose to exclude those scores when you send info to colleges AFTER March 2009. This is why S is taking a Jan SAT, because we know he can exclude it next year if he wants.
