Sending SAT Scores

I haven't sent in my SAT scores in yet and I was wondering if schools want to literally receive the scores by the deadline or if they just want you to have it postmarked by that time. I'm really confused by Pomona College, which hasn't specified anything other than "This deadline (Jan 2) requires receipt of entrance examination results."

Help please!!

Also, I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong section... I'm new..

I wish I knew the answer, since this is kind of an urgent situation, but since I don’t - bump.

My guess, from mock-sending scores at the collegeboard website, is that even if you sent the scores now (Pomona accepts them electronically), they wouldn’t reach the college until 1-2 weeks (which makes no sense, considering that electronic should mean immediate). The Pomona website explicitly states that ‘All application materials are due in our office by the appropriate application deadlines.’
However, they might still accept the scores late if everything else has been turned in, since apparently they send out an email to applicants regarding missing documents from their application. I’m not sure, obviously–this is just inference from what I’ve found online.
If you’d like to ask this in the SAT forum before Jan. 2nd, it can be found here[/url”>SAT Preparation - College Confidential Forums]here. Good luck, a fellow applicant

Most schools want your application, supplement, and payment by the deadline.
