Sending Scores to Colleges

So I took the October SAT feeling very depressed after b/c i felt i "deproved"....so i was wondering if I could still send scores to colleges after I get them even though on the registration form, it says that you have only one week after taking the test to change the score recipients....

Does anyone know?? Thanks:))

You answered your own question...

You have until 11:59 PM (EST) on the Monday one week after your scheduled test date, to change the 4 free score recipients. You can always send score reports after this period to universities at their $9.50/report price. (+$10 if you request it by phone and +$27 if you send it as rush reporting.)

Can't you just delete the 4 free score recipients and enter them again when you know how you did? My D did this with her June scores and yesterday it let her send one of them, which had to be in before the October scores come out. It says she still has 3 of her 4 free reports left from the June exam. Since she's applying to 10 schools I think she's now planning to use the other 3 after the October scores come out, and is assuming CB will include everything up to the request date anyway. Is that right?

My questions is, if it says that a college has score delivery via Internet, why would it take 1-2 weeks?! Does anyone have experience with the actual time it takes? Thanks!

My son has taken the SAT three times (March 2008, June 2008 and October 2008). Right before the October test he set up four schools to get the scores. Will the schools receive all the scores? He is a little nervous because he thinks the June testing will end up being the best scores. He wants to make sure these are received.

They will get every score.

are u sure i thought from now on we could give any score acc to our choice

sk8mom: When colleges have the score delivery via internet, they receive scores from ETS in set batches at regular intervals (once to a few times a week). So your daughter's score does not get sent individually there when it is sent electronically; instead it will be received with dozens to hundreds of different score reports during that delivery date. Regardless, universities will see them if you've requested them to be sent already, so don't fret.

sagoorbest: Starting March 2009, the College Board will be reinstituting their "Score Choice" procedure where students can choose which Subject tests they would like to be sent. This policy has been expanded to allow students to also choose which Reasoning tests are sent. Unfortunately, this will not go into effect until next year. Score Choice

Thanks mxlinx! I figured it had to be something like the frequency of the school's choice.

OP - I think my D's method will work for you, change them by deleting the score recipient(s) before Monday if you want to see your scores before they're sent. Then you still have your score reports to use at a later time if you wish. But many colleges superscore so, even if you went down on this exam, it really shouldn't matter. Good luck!

I think that the "free" score reports are only available for about 10 days after the test. Ds account says that she has "3 days left" to edit her score reports. Older tests show that she has no "free report" availability. With that in mind, if you wait until the scores are in, Oct 23, then each of those reports must be paid for. I sent a report 2 weeks ago (before oct test) and if free reports accumulated then D would have already had 12 free reports. I had to pay.

I do agree with the position though that if you have already sent previous scores and you are uncertain about this tests results, you may want to wait until you view the current scores before sending. I just don't think that they will be free.

PS. If I am wrong about this "free" thing, please let me know. Having 12 more free would save us a bunch of money.
