sending transcripts from college courses taken during high school

My S spent the past two summers taking college credit courses at a university. We've had the university send transcripts to the HS, assuming the HS will send it along with the HS transcript. (Especially since he got A's both summers, and the UC's and other schools count these the same as AP courses in GPA calculations)

But the university transcript is some sort of locked pdf that expires after 180 days. Which means in March. I'm not even sure it's transferable from the HS to anywhere else.

So now I'm wondering if we shouldn't just request that the uni send it electronically to all the schools my son is applying to. Problem is it seems they only send them to people's emails.

So... anyone else been in our shoes and know the answer?

That is odd, or at least I’ve never heard of it! Were they dual enrollment courses? If so, they’ll appear on the HS transcript anyway and he will only have to submit official transcripts from the univ to the college he enrolls in. If not, can’t his GC print the transcripts now and put them in his file for mailing?
