Sending Unofficial HS and College Transcript w/ First Semester Grades

I won't be able to get my transcript sent to Princeton till Jan 3rd. I completely forgot about requesting it, and there's really no excuse for that.

Since the Common App requires a college transcript to be sent as well, I won't be able to get that done till next week.

My question - Can I send my unofficial transcript (up to end of my junior year) and first semester report card (it's in an online version right now, I don't know if it'll include the grade from my college course) from my HS grading system and unofficial college transcript (I'm not sure if it has the grade from my college class ready yet, but it does carry my AP credits and other relevant information) in place of my official reports until I can get them sent first thing next week?

The official reports will arrive after the deadline. I have everything else in except for one teacher recommendation (I asked him in November to just use my recommendation for another school and upload it to the Common App, emailed him yesterday to remind him of the deadline, wished him Merry Christmas for good measure =])

I totally understand if I will be penalized or my application will not be considered, but if my substitutes for the official reports (they will cover everything up to now in terms of my courses taken and the latest grades) work till I get the official documents sent, that would be fantastic.

Thank you all.

This is definitely a question for the admissions office, not for us. However, I know that a lot of schools don’t mind if documents that come from high schools are in a little late, as long as YOUR part of the application (the CommonApp, the supplement, and the payment) are in by the deadline. Most schools, Princeton included, take a few days to even process your application – they didn’t mark mine as complete until about five days after I sent it in for the EA round. So I don’t think they’d have a problem, but you should still email them. I know they’re closed right now but at least you can show you tried.

Oh, and I don’t think you should send unofficial transcripts, they can’t do anything with that and for the first couple weeks or so the Admissions Office will probably just be focusing on getting materials matched up in people’s files, not on reviewing those files yet.

Thank you! I will email them today!
