Senior Grades and College admission

I need some advice regarding the classes I am taking. For my Junior year I am currently taking 4 ap classes, spanish 3, and comp sci. However, for my senior year, I am taking 7 ap classes (+ Ap gov, Ap econ, Ap comp sci). I know colleges tend to look at Junior year, so would taking 4 AP classes hurt my chances of college admission even if I take 7 ap classes next year?

Is this a joke… No. At most schools, access to APs opens up significantly senior year.

No, this does not matter. Colleges also look at senior year as well (they check to see how many courses you’re taking and if you’re “taking it easy” senior year). This won’t affect you negatively at all.

That makes sense. I was wondering because my friends who are enrolled in the IB program have 7 IB classes. Lots of weighted classes compared to me. Some of my AP friends were able to convince their councilors to give them two sciences or math classes. I couldn’t because computer science was in my schedule.

" I’m afraid it wont be as significant as taking multiple APs junior year." I don’t understand what you’re asking. If you’'re thinking colleges don’t care about your senior courses, you’re wrong.

Also, if you’re planning to take AP computer science, why do you need this computer science elective that is so constraining to your schedule?

Colleges will probably not care whether you took an AP class junior or senior year.

I would lean away from taking more APs senior year than Junior year because you will have to complete applications for college senior year, and those are very time consuming.

Good luck making a decision! You’ll do great regardless.

Because of my schedule and my computer science elective (a highly sought over class), I dont have space for any more APs. I cant take multiple sciences or math courses because everything is full at this point. Other students and friends I know have about 5-7 APs. However, next year, AP GOV, AP Economics, and AP Computer Science opens up for me allowing me to take 7 APs, but I’m afraid it wont be as significant as taking multiple APs junior year. Would this affect me during college admission?
