Didn't see this when I searched it, so I'll bring it up. Do senior grades matter at all? If your accepted to a good school, they will probably request your transcript again, but obviously they are not judging it as if your being admitted all over again, so in theory, Senior grades will not even count. Or am I wrong?

If you apply early (and the college doesn’t ask for semester grades), your grades for senior year do not come in to play for admission. The rigor of your senior class schedule is considered, and schools have standards that have to be maintained. An acceptance can be rescinded.

You must have missed the threads where people were scared of being rescinded ^^

Midyear grades are usually sent to colleges, so colleges will see your first semester/quarter grades before they finalize their decision.

After that, as long as you don’t start getting Cs everywhere, you’re probably fine, yes. Some schools, such as the UCs and CSUs, do give “Terms of Acceptance” where you have to get 3.0 gpa or something to keep your acceptance though.

When applying Regular Decision, first semester senior year grades certainly do count, especially if colleges sense that you are suffering from “senioritis.” It can also affect your class ranking, which colleges will see on your midyear report, which Renais mentioned. Second semester don’t “count” in that they aren’t used to determine whether you are accepted to a certain college are not. Rather, the college you plan to attend will see them and if they are bad, your offer of admission can be rescinded. Bottom line: Don’t blow off senior year just because you think your grades don’t “count.” It will come back to haunt you.
