Senior Schedule-Part 2

ok. so, I’m changing my mind about my schedule for senior year.
these are the classes I’m deciding between:
Ap Lit (for sure taking this)
Ap Gov or ACA DEC (i heard the Ap Gov teacher is awful, but I’m not sure what ACA DEC consists of, so info would be helpful)
Ap stats or regular stats (I’ve heard they’re not that different)
theater(i really want to take it but I’m not are if it will fit)
leadership(if accepted)
i would also like an open period
i am so confused any input on classes would be appreciated

What subjects are you interested in? Have you taken a foreign language? What science courses have you taken?

What colleges are you aiming for?

yes i have taken 3 years of spanish. as for sciences i have taken biology honors, chemistry honors, and anatomy/physiology. colleges I’m looking into right now are mostly private christian schools. nothing highly competitive. i have a 4.0 GPA

Look into Calvin, Wheaton (IL), Hope, Gordon, Wofford, Berry, Messiah, Morovian, Eastern if you mean private evangelical.
If you mean Catholic, look into Loyolas (Maryland, Los Angeles, Chicago, New Orleans), UDayton, UPortland, UScranton, Saint Louis U, St Michael’s.
If you mean religiously-affiliated but neither especially evangelical nor catholic, you have many choices, from Augsburg in Minneapolis to Hendrix in Arkansas to Illinois Wesleyan…

Now, what does your certain schedule look like?
What choices do you have?
“Leadership” isn’t an academic class, so I strongly caution against taking an open period on top of this.

the colleges I’m looking into are azusa, biola, george fox…more west coast because i live in california. I’m not sure what you mean by “what my certain schedule looks like”. nothing is in place yet. i would have to be accepted into leadership and acadec, and if i don’t get into one then i would have an open period. at my school leadership is a rigorous class that is very involved. while grades and academics are very important to me, i want to try some new things senior year.

I mean, what classes are you sure to get, and what classes are still up in the air?
However for Azusa, Biola, etc, I think it’d work as a schedule. Leadership may be a rigorous class at your school but unless it’s specified in your school profile, the general idea is that it’s not a core class (core class = English, Math, Foreign Language, Science, Social Science); adding an open period makes your schedule less rigorous, so plan to take something instead of open period in addition to leadership.
BTW I think it’s good you’re trying new things and hope you’ll get into the Leadership class!

classes I’m sure to get are ap lit, stats (either normal or AP), theater, zoology. aca dec and leadership are the ones I’m not sure of. if i don’t get into aca dec then i would take ap gov, and then for sure wouldn’t take ap stats. as for leadership thank you and i figured it wouldn’t be that big of a deal because i will be taking all the core classes except for a language which I’ve already taken three years of.

You can take Ap stats, it’s an “Ap lite”, ie., really easy compared to usual APs.

ok thanks!
