I'm going to be a senior next ('09 woot) and I was wondering if this schedule would be competitive enough for HYPSM, other Ivies, Duke, Berkeley, UCLA, USC.

AP English Lit
AP Macroeconomics
AP US Gov
AP Studio Art 2D
AP Art History
Honors Anatomy & Physiology
Physics C: Mechanics

I took 6 APs as a junior and 4 APs as a soph. I already finished up my math (took AP Calc BC as a junior & AP Stats as a sophomore). I'm going to the local cc for diff equations. I'm also 1/314. Yet to take SATs and ACTs. Do you think this schedule is competitive enough for the colleges I want to go to?

Gotcha. You know you can take them more than once though right? Oh well, you seem to be ahead of the game academically (moreso than I am) so I can't argue with you too much! That looks like a very daunting schedule though.

Thanks I’m still really worried though. Especially since 09 has the largest graduating class and all the colleges I want to go to are super competitive. Do u think I have a pretty good chance?

Wow, 16 APs and valedictorian. That's kinda ridiculous. Our school only allows sophomores to take 3 APs sophomore year, but because of graduation requirements, you have to pick 1 basically.

You should be fine. I know people who took half as many APs and got into Princeton.

Your defining factor, however, are your ECs. Colleges don't want a kid that just studies. What else do you do?

Thanks for the boost. I tutor Math & English at Kumon, Pres of Key Club, Pres of Model UN, Treasurer of CSF, Editor of School Newspaper, have to complete two more classes at local cc for associate degree in math, working on an independent research project.

gosh you sound like the perfect student well rounded in everything i think you have a GREAT chance so work hard good luck!! hope everything turns out great :)
