I am going to become a senior this fall and I am conflicted on whether I should take Spanish 3 or AVID Peer Tutoring for my last class.
My senior schedule is looking to be:
AP Physics
AP Calc. BC
AP Government
AP English Lit.
AP Psychology
AVID Peer Tutoring or Spanish 3
I am rank 1 out of my entire class and my weighted GPA is 4.34. My weighted from my sophomore and junior year is 4.55. With AVID Peer Tutoring I would be able to get an unweighted GPA of 5.0, but with Spanish 3 I would be maximizing my unweighted GPA at 4.8.
My extra-curriculars include officer positions in the scholars program, president of gaming club, varsity tennis, and about 200 community service hours.
My current SAT score is 1920, and I will be taking the October SAT.
I'm also considering self-studying AP Computer Science throughout the year since its my intended major in college.
I am looking to apply to Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC, UCI, and some Ivy League schools.
Would it be more beneficial for me to take AVID Peer Tutoring or Spanish 3?

Check the requirements for each school. A number of schools want 3 years of foreign language. If you need Spanish 3 to get there, then that may be the better choice. If you have enough foreign language without Spanish 3, then it probably doesn’t matter very much.

As it stands your SAT is low for many of the schools you are looking at, so I’d really consider expanding your list.

spanish 3. most schools, especially Ivies and UCs require 3 years of foreign language

Spanish 3 without a doubt. The colleges that you’re looking at would prefer 3 years of a foreign language.
