Senior Year 2nd Semester Grades

So, whew. Got through first semester of senior year with straight A's (perfect high school record so far). Accepted to MIT EA, and waiting on a couple of others (top-tiers) at the moment for RD.

So my teachers in second semester are not being nice with grades right now. I barely whizzed by with straight A's first semester in about 3 classes, and now I'm in danger of B'ing about 4 of them, again. And senioritis is not going to help.

Question: Assuming worst case scenario, in which case I get 4 B's, is that enough for a rescinding of acceptance? (trust me, I'm trying! I'm not purposely not doing work and such) Also, is my high school GPA/transcript potentially going to play a role in my future (post-high school)? For instance, say I wanted to do an internship during IAP at MIT; would they potentially ask for my high school transcript? Or at job interviews later on?

Thanks!

As far as I know, colleges don’t see second semester senior year grades. You only send those to the final institution that you end up going to. I don’t know about MIT, but for Harvard the admissions office said that a few B’s second semester are fine…but if you start getting C’s, they’ll get worried. You don’t want your senioritis to land you a rescindment, so I’d check with MIT on their policy.

Unless you want to put it on a resume or something, companies don’t care that much about high school grades. They probably would, however, ask for your grades in college.
