Senior year Ap chem or bio

I am now in my senior year of high school and I am considering either to enter Ap biology or chemistry as I am considering to enter medical school but not in the US … not sure where but internationally .i haven’t taken any ap class as my school doesn’t offer it at all … that is why I only have the choice this year either to choose between those 2 . chemistry is hell easier for me however I don’t care about effort . what do you think guys will increase my admission to med. schools internationally. I am even considering to take SAT biology rather than AP because it is easier. help my guys cause last chance to decide is after tomorrow …

Have you taken another Biology course in HS either Honors or Regular since I assume you have taken a Chemistry course so far? If not, take AP Biology. If you have taken a Biology course, then take AP Chemistry. Schools like to see a Chemistry/Biology and Physics course on your HS transcript but not all need to be AP level.

Why do you plan to go to med school internationally?
Most international med schools would expect both as well as physics honors and calculus.

As somebody just starting AP Bio, I can tell you it’s a lot different than the Honors Bio course I took in freshman year, and AP Chem is probably a lot different from the Honors Chem course I took sophomore year. If you’re having trouble choosing between the two, I would suggest you ask the teachers for each course if you can get a copy of say, the first reading, and see which is easier fro you.

And this might seem a bit counterproductive, but I would suggest doing the one you struggle with most FIRST. Since you seem to be good at both, I would suggest this because you hopefully won’t struggle too much. It’s also likely that you will get a five on the exam for it, meaning you don’t have to do the more difficult course in college, and can focus on the easier one (and hey, it looks good on your transcript!)

But one caveat: check if the schools you’re applying to offer AP Credit, as they are abroad and not all schools in America offer credit for international exams; the same might be true over there. Either way, good luck at whichever you choose.

actually, I took O level biology … I don’t know if it is the same level as biology honor. However, I took chemistry O-level and chemistry but not honor in grade 10 … that is why i am considering taking AP chemistry as when i looked at the syllabus i knew 60 percent of the chapters while AP biology was like a shock for minute … i don’t recall anything and the thing is that i will take those AP online …makes me not sure if I really can handle the biology or it will be not good after a lot of effort .

the problem is I am a very special case… In grade 9 I was IG system ( British system ) I took O-level in Math, English physics, biology and chemistry with straight As …but in grade 10 I had to shift to American school due to my fathers job and I entered pretty late that made them calculate my grade on 2 semesters only and I took English world history chemistry and algebra 2 and electives ( in this school you don’t have any freedom of choosing anything ) then I entered a foreign school and also very late and I have no idea what is the language and I had to study everything in this language and I knew 0 and this made my GPA this year very low that I got 70 % in total… but it was a miracle for the whole school that I passed without even understanding a word in this year. I have no idea what to do … I am considering entering a med. school. Sorry for the long story but you understand now why didn’t i have any choice to choose what i take i just need anything to give me hope to enter university

Where do you want to study - Europe, the US?
What kind of school are you in right now?
Are you an American citizen?
Are you involved in medically relevant activities outside of class?
