Senior year grades

Hey everyone,

The SCEA round is around the corner and I have a question.

At my school (traditionally), grades are reported semester wise. So if I were to apply SCEA would they see my senior year progress. Would they have access to my first quarter grades? They should all be great.

I think that is a question for your guidance counselor, not here. Yale has no magic way to see inside your school’s grading system. They “see” what they are given.

Generally speaking, for high schools on the semester system, SCEA decisions come out before the semester is over, so colleges do not see your first semester senior grades when they make their decision. However, SCEA acceptances are contingent upon your senior year grades not declining. Colleges have been known to rescind acceptances when an ‘A’ student slips to a B/B- student. Some high schools do include a mid-term report card with a student’s transcript to colleges, so I would ask your GC to be on the safe side.
