<p>How important are 1st semester senior year grades in the admissions process in general (or specific to Dartmouth)? If I apply early and am deffered, then end up some lousy senior grades, how badly does that hurt?</p>

<p>haha I'm having the same problem. My grades up until this year have been all straight As. But now our school has a new 9 week grading system, so my grades are slowly dropping D=</p>
<p>If you are applying ED it will not be unusual for the school to ask for your frist marking period grades especially if your grades and scores look like you would be an auto admit. a downward trend senior year will definitely hurt you as the school will not be at a loss of applicants who have maintained their grades through out the school year.</p>
