Upward trend and senior year???

I know colleges take into consideration an upward trend, and it helps in admissions. But I noticed many people (i.e. pretty much every poster on every site lol) have LESS rigorous schedules during senior year. I'm moving upward, and in senior year, I'm planning to take up a more rigorous schedule and keep moving forward.

Basically, my question is will having a more rigorous schedule senior year give me an advantage?

And, if so, why doesn't anyone else do it? :/

If it matters, I'm a sophomore who missed her freshman year (long story short- I moved to the US haha :) ).

bumppppp…

bumping againnnnnn. c’mon guys. some of you have got to have some opinions.

basically, what i think is that colleges don’t want to see you “slacking off.” i myself am a senior and have taken more and more vigorous courses throughout the years.

also, colleges like to see you challenging yourself, and if you happen to do well in those classes, it may waive many of the ge courses you’re required to take at some colleges.

so my advice is to not fall into the trend of moving downward academic-wise.
