Hola,
Im contemplating whether I should take Physics next year or not... I know colleges like it, but I also wanna take AP Bio & AP Chem... I could do all 3, but then I'd have no room for a study hall & it might be pretty dang hard. I could do either APBio/APChem and then take Accelerated Physics.. but idkk..

Which option do you think would be best admission-wise? Is 3 sciences too hard?

Here in Brazil, every student has to take a full Biology/Chemistry/Physics course during all the last 4 years of school. To be honest? We learn to live with it; it’s all about adapting to the new disciplines. Just like you have English and math on the SAT, we have all three sciences in our standardized test.

Depends on your abilities. Is it impossible? Not at all.

I AM IN THE EXACT SAME BOAT!!! I honestly don’t know what to do either, but i feel for ya. I’ve been asking everybody I know, and they say just do what you like best for senior year. None of them will look bad on an application, and it’s your last year in HS. Might as well enjoy it :)I’m probably going to do AP bio and AP chem myself…or drop one AP and do honors physics. I know that i don’t think i want to be bogged down by 3 sciences, its deffinatly an overload in my opinion.

Do you like Calc? b/c physics is a lot of calculus i think…so if you go for and do 3 you better like calc.

High school level physics can be understood without calculus. On the physics SAT Subject Test, you will need not to use calc.

I’m currently concurrently enrolled in a non-AP physics course and in AP Biology (I’m a junior).

It’s manageable - Physics is pretty simple if you’re not in the AP stuff, it just involves some algebra and math.

Yeah it’s a hard decision, I wanna take all 3 but that would suuuuck… I know 1 school i might want to go to requires physics, but I wonder if 2 other AP sciences would make them look past it? Blahhhhhhh…

Oh well my counselors told me today that most decent colleges will expect to see at least one year of each type of lab science - bio chem and physics, so I really do recommend you take at least some sort of physics.
