Senior Year Schedule

So this is what I’m planning for my senior year:

AP Statistics
AP Biology
AP French Language and Culture
AP Literature and Composition
Band (Possibly wind ensemble if my audition goes well)
Anatomy/Forensics (Both 1 semester long)

My schedule and grades this year looks like:

AP Calculus AB: C [77.02%]
AP Chemistry: B [84.35%]
Honors English 11: A- [90.40%]
World History: A+ [101.55%]
Band: A+ [100%]
Physics: A- [90%]
Self-Studying French IV

I’m just worried that the workload will be too much for me. I didn’t want to take Calc BC because I feel like I would be too overloaded, as I sometimes get stressed over tests in AB. So, what do you guys think?

Do you think that you’ll be able to handle all the AP classes? AP Biology requires a lot of memorization and is on par with AP Chemistry in terms of difficulty (although it is a bit easier). AP Stats is a lot easier than Calc but still requires work. AP Lit requires a bunch of reading and may or may not be difficult depending on your school. Since you are planning to self study French IV, I’m going to guess that you are prepared enough for AP French. It’s good to take many AP courses, but you shouldn’t have to compromise your GPA.

I would not take AP Calc BC if you’re struggling in AB. Do you have any possible majors or fields of study that you’re thinking about studying in college? That could help determine some of the classes you could take in your senior year. Are you really strong at biology? I only ask because I am taking AP Bio now (as a senior), and it can be overwhelming and stressful for me at times. AP Statistics is considered easier than AP Calc (generally speaking), and it’s not an extremely difficult AP class. (I’m also taking AP Stat now, without an issue.) I don’t think you’ll have any problems with taking AP French since you’re self-studying French IV now. I’m not sure if you’ve considered this, but have you thought about taking an AP history class? You seem to excel in World History now, so I’d consider replacing AP Bio with some type of history class (if possible). However, if you haven’t taken any type of Biology class, then I would recommend taking AP Biology, as many colleges like to see at least biology, chemistry, and physics. Other than that, I think it’s manageable. Just make sure you manage your time well (this is very important!) and leave time for completing college applications, essays, and scholarships. Even if you finish most of your college apps over the summer, it’s important that you have ample time to complete other paperwork and items relating to college (such as preparing for the ACT/SAT). You know yourself best, so think hard about whether you’ll be able to 4 AP classes along with all of your other courses. Good luck!

I would be cautious taking AP Biology. At my school, it is one of the harder AP classes. It really depends on what grades you want. If you’re trying to get A’s, taking an easier class may be best. If you’re ok getting B’s or C’s and are really just interested in taking the class, go for it.

@LionKing2398 I’m think of taking up a chemistry/biology major, so math is a good portion of it. I was decent at honors biology (I got an A without even studying). I will NEVER take another AP history class again, I learned from my mistakes with APUSH.

Also, all of my friends seem to have A’s in AP Bio, so I guess the teacher is pretty good.
