Im going to be a senior this year and I visited two colleges so far. I am interested in the nursing program but they both require some different things. I am considering taking AP chem but one college will give me credit and the other wont they require biochem. Even though I asked if I would get some sort of credit they said I would only be coming in with a stronger chemistry background. I am confused and Im not sure If i should take the class or not. I am considering switching to some other class like AP psychology or AP bio. Should I still take AP chem?
It truly depends on the program to which you are applying, but I think depending on the rest of your schedule it could be a good fit. Although I don’t know what schools you are applying to, AP Bio would be a good class to keep as nursing majors typically require it. Even if it doesn’t transfer over to credit, if you can afford the exam I’d say it’s worth it if you are interested in it. The one class that you could switch out is AP Psych (if you don’t truly want to take it/don’t need it for admissions) unless one of your programs (that you’re browsing) requires a Gen PSYCH class.
