Senioritis is in the air!

Senioritis hit almost everybody in my school, but teachers are really cracking down to prevent us from slacking off. We've been assigned papers that, if we fail, we won't graduate (genuine threat, I checked with my deans). And, our homework assignments are being checked almost daily as apposed to last semester where they were generally checked every other week.
Senior grades are decreasing regardless, people are ignoring their looming tests, and the quad is filled with people playing football who used to spend their time doing their homework.
Life's great yes?

Yup, senioritis is starting to hit me bad too. It sucks though because after first semester ended, I got bumped up to the salutatorian spot. I want to keep my rank, but if I don't it's not gonna be that big of a deal. I used to flip out if I got lower than a 'B' on any of my progress reports. But, now, I have a B in French III Honors and another possible 'B' in AP English. I just brushed it off and told myself that it'll go up.

Hah. Tell me about it. I'm just over school...I literally can NOT focus on anything...hah. I went from being one of those "do the hw as soon as you get it" type people to "when's the LAST possible moment I can do it?" (sometimes the last 10 minutes of the class before...sad, but true).

Oh i love it....the air is just so nice and clear...empty of all worries
that will be until i have like 3 weeks to pull my grades back up at the end of the semester.
right now though....i have awful study habits.....

awful

My favorite senioritis moment: looks down at question 13 of AP Physics test... Oh, there's a mosquito in here... five minutes later... Oh S˚#t, I forgot I was talking a test.

Ah, Senioritis. I just had some major exams in class and it was such a joke. I opened my math text book 10 minutes before my exam to cram some formulas and did the same for bio and actually didn't even bother for physics.

lol armageddon

lol senioritis is kind of fun. i haven't been this carefree about school in a long time. homework? ehh. who cares.

My sentiments exactly, MrArticulate.

best senioritis quote so far...
(the day before a potential snow day) my friend: "We can't have school tomorrow! I have plans!"

I just found out that people who graduate with a 4.0 get $100 from the school at graduation. Even though it's not like $100 is a big deal, I would feel really dumb if I slacked and missed out. >:/ It's a pride thing. Soooo ughhhh I have to try a little! D:

Also, if I maintain my 4.0 and the val gets a B, which is possible, I'll graduate as number 1 and potentially get even more money. Lawl he's my really good friend and I told him about the money/the possibility that I'll surpass him, and he was like "Haha thanks for telling me! Now I'm motivated to actually try. YOU WON'T BEAT ME." (He's already in at Penn so he wasn't gonna worry about the possible B until I told him about this. Grrrrrr.)

^ I can help you get to the top! :)

Some people would actually do horrendous things to get to the top. A girl in the class of 08 at my school was #2 and wanted to be #1 so she abducted the val's binder before finals started.

The val still remained val though...

Hahahaha. That's amazing.

Hmmm... I should "forget" that we have French homework when he asks me what it is. (French is his possible B.) >:]

^Do they count 2nd semester grades for Val/Sal awards?

i love senioritis. i dont do homework any more, i spend classes talking with friends or sleeping. so far my personal favorite moment was in my physics class, when my teacher was getting frustrated and she decided to say "if you want to leave go ahead". well she didnt realize all the seniors but 1 and the 5 juniors would leave, and then we went and hung out in the lounge listening to music

i wish i could just throw my work away. i got deferred...so i'm really busting my ass off. i used to be content with Cs and Bs but now im like one of those kids who cry when they don't get an A...who i still resent...

see, the problem is that i have a few electives with juniors so the teachers actually want to teach classes... it sucks!

^
And why exactly are you in those classes in the first place (unless they are junior/senior classes, such as AP courses or phys. ed)?

i have no idea... i didnt know, but for some reason, we are required to take electives. And it just happens to be that there are juniors in it...

The only elective that I know that has juniors and seniors is phys. ed.
