senioritis party

anyway i'm struggling with getting a 3.0 now. i have 2 D's and 1 B, which is technically a 2.83 not to mention i'm not meeting the whole "C or higher" requirement

i've been debating whether or not i should tell them. of the 2 D's one teacher is hella nice and will probably give me a C if i beg. the other one...i'm not sure, yet we have this fatty final project anyways that should raise it to a C. sooooooooo, to tell berkeley or not to tell? does anyone know anyone (siblings, friends, friends of friends) who has had this problem before? did they get rescinded?

and since we're on the topic..i think i'd feel a lot better if other people were also having senioritis. so feel free to drop a line telling me just how ****ty YOU'RE doing in school

i just got in on appeal, and theres no way im risking anything. they seem to have a very set-in-stone policy concerning this; you effectively sign a contract and have to provide evidence to back it up over the summer. getting anything below a C and anything below an overall 3.0 unweighted is playing with fire, sack up and work.

i have "senioritis" in that i dont do much/any work, but i still have all A's and a B... in 5 academic classes... i wouldn't want to jeopardize my admission though anyway. it would suck if that happened to you, or anyone. :-/

I am big time "senioritis." My GC told me they invented the word for me. I have 16 absenses since winter break!! My grades have dropped this semester, I have 5 IB classes and 1 AP class and I have 3 A's and 3 B's... I am so glad classes are over and I just have testing for the month of May!
Arget10, you need to kick it into high gear and get it together or you may get your admission rescinded!!

lol I have soo many absenses too, but not as much as CA2006 =]

I've been slacking off soo much but I'm still pulling off about half A's half B's. Have four AP tests comming up that I'm totally not prepared for. I'd say you should pick it up a bit. My advice: Get rid of those two D's before the semester ends. Play with fire and you will get burned.

that's not counting today either... :)

I have lots of absences and I'm getting hosed in AP Chem if that helps...? For what it's worth, I'm really worried too. gaaah. Any advice?

if you can't find the motivation to finish strong on your last few weeks in HS, you're going to really struggle at Berkeley.

advice: find some really good soccer player, and ask him or her to give you a really big kick in the @$$! Fire up already... ;)

I concur. If you cannot make it through senior year without getting satisfactory grades, you will get pwned here.

I don't see how other posters have the patience to answer these repeated senioritis-related topics. I, for one, have very little sympathy for people who do get their admissions rescinded due to slacking off. Shows that they only care about "getting into a good college" rather than being passionate about learning, which is what's ultimately needed to succeed.

I'm getting all A's, but I REALLY don't want to take 2 of my 3 AP exams. Would it matter if I don't?

i'm only taking 1 of my 3. i'm pretty sure berkeley doesnt care. it just means you might not be in a higher level course for that subject. obviously if they offer lower level courses they expect students to either a) not take the AP course in high school b) take the AP course but not the AP test or c) take the AP course but fail the AP test

arghh im taking all 4. well, I don't really mind. I kinda wanna get credit for them if i can.. esp. physics and eng.
and i don't think i did so good on ap spanish todayyy..:(
