Hi guys who are seniors in high school and this is your last year? What are your biggest regrets in your high school career?

Mostly being too shy to do much the first year or two of high school, in the way of extra-curriculars or talking to people who didn’t go to my middle school.

I think it’s better to ask this question April when the HYPS results come out

I regret not standing up for my choices…i believed in them, but i let others belittle them

I regret the bad choices I made sophomore year…I did hardly any of my Composition II hw or American History…I frequently skipped chemistry and never got the work for it…I feel lucky that I scraped by with Ds and didn’t fail flat out.

I’m a junior, but I’ll say something too. I regret messing up my freshman year, and also not appreciating my old school. The fact that it was ranked in the top 30 nationwide was only a number to me then, but now I actually know what it means.

Regret for not having searching in advance how high school life was in America. Really, I never expect it to be this horrible

Regret for thinking College Board Website looks lame and the Common Application was lame too when seen at the first time (I thought they were fake)

Regret for not taking high school seriously because they were immature

Regret for not joining some clubs that was totally unknown to me…

and many others …

i don’t regret my stuff. i mean, lets focus on today :D

For taking Robotics (way too easy, learned nothing) and missing out on the chance to take either AP Psych or an art course :(

I regret not finding CC until late in my Junior year. It is the only reason I took 3 AP classes and 3 other college-credit classes my Senior year.

i regret not finding cc during my freshman year. i regret not joining many clubs during my freshman and sophomore years and lastly i regret dating a guy cause he truly wasn’t worth it.

Regrets:
- Self-esteem issues in 9th grade, and only focused on getting A’s without absorbing any material.
- Joining too many sports and sucking at all. Seriously. I can’t even do them this year cause of my back.
- Entire Sophomore year (was a disaster. Grade-wise wasn’t too bad, I got all A- and one B+. But I have never felt more ostracized.)
- Joining the school concert band. Got a B in a bull **** class and had a miserable time.

Freshman year. Period.

Regret is ridiculous. Realize that not every decision leads to a happy conclusion and move on.

My biggest regret is messing up Junior Year. I just got so LAZY last year, and my average decreased by 3 whole points, and you all should know how much of a difference that is!

I don’t regret it, but I learned from it: Freshman year. Not being more outgoing towards people I don’t know (which I’m workin’ on). Not taking pre-calc.

When you guys are parents can you hear yourselves saying to your kids “you really need to buckle down and study, because your 9th grade GPA will really, really matter come college selection time” “Oh and don’t come crying to me in 3 years because you didn’t listen”

messing up my junior year and not working a bit harder to makes the Bs As…and getting that one C+ that killed everything! =[ it makes me depressed when i think about it

losing my virginity

Waiting until Senior year to start tennis.
Failing Physics in my junior year.
Doing pretty much nothing at all freshman year; academically, extracurricularly, or socially
Not being more social, outgoing, and approchable. Missed out on countless fun because of my shyness.
Not coming out my freshman year. Would have made life A LOT simpler.

I lived it and I’ve learned: what to do and what not to do.
