Sent the wrong college essay!!!!

was working on 2 essays. For some reason, the one for another college was pasted into the essay box for Rutgers. What do I do?!?!

How much is the essay worth anyway? The 2 topics were somewhat related, but not directly.

Do you think it would destroy my chance of going there?

Stats:
GPA: 96 (UW); 97.77 (W).
SATs: 1900; 540 (R), 690 (M), 670 (W). 12~essay.
Rank: 5/911.

I have a lot of extracurriculars.

That essay will probably destroy me -___-

12 essay and 540 W? That’s rather odd.

Anyway, it depends on how different the prompts are. You’d have to be the judge of that. If they are completely unrelated, it would probably benefit you to call the admissions office, but keep in mind that this will probably reflect pretty badly on you. If they are fairly similar, it might be better to leave it.

HAhahaahah. Your stats? Rutgers? I think you’ll be fine, even with the essay mishap.

It’s an understandable mistake. Might be better to ask them to swap in the right one than to have them thinking you really didn’t get what they were asking for. But you have to judge how suitable it was.

How many people have never made a copy/paste mistake? I’d email them the proper essay as an attachment. It’s not as though you have to pretend you’re applying to only one school. You could call them first.
