<p>I literally turned my application in at the last possible second of the deadline last night because I had been having trouble for days attaching my essay. I decided to just submit the application w/o the essay anyways, and emailed and faxed the essay portion this morning to every address I could find.</p>
<p>Surprisingly, I just got offered the phone interview...I almost feel like this must be some sort of fluke! I do think I have a pretty good resume, but I wonder if they really are just granting everyone the first round interview as a screening process.</p>
<p>In any case, having been given this second chance, i need to nail the phone interview!
Any tips and experience w/the philanthropy program would be helpful!!!</p>

<p>Been reading the thread for awhile and i noticed its a lot less busy this year than in the past. On last years thread a couple of ppl from the 1st round had already been accepted come this time. Anyone got the big phone call yet this year?? I interviewed in person back on nov 22nd in atlanta and havent heard of anyone hearing back yet. Wondering whether theyre just moving slower this year or what..</p>
<p>i was told that everyone who interviewed in the first round would hear back on the 15th of January, whether accepted or rejected. I saw someone else post that we'd hear back on Jan 23rd though, so i have no idea whats going on. They're definitely moving a lot slower this year.</p>
<p>I had my in person interview on Dec 6th and I havent heard back either. Do you know how is SEO contacting us? Since I will be out of the country soon, I wont be able to answer my phone.</p>

<p>What if you applied first round, phone interviewed first round but got pushed to the second for in person? I phone interviewed Nov. 15th, heard back Dec 12 that I got the in person and the earliest I can do that is Jan 22. Whats up with that?</p>

<p>I sent in my application on November 15th, got notification of a phone interview on November 18th, had a phone interview yesterday and received notification about my in-person interview today. My interview is in mid-January. That's weird that you haven't heard anything... good luck to everyone! :)</p>
<p>Is the January 23rd date for notification non-negotiable? Because I dont want to be applying to banks especially if they are in the SEO program I am applying to until I hear back from SEO. Not sure when the deadlines for the banks are though...</p>
<p>hey- i haven't heard of many people hearing back yet so i'm not sure when they'll get back to us. i would definitely still apply for the other banks directly, goldman's deadline already passed (it was dec 15th) and most other banks have deadlines the beginning of january which is before seo's notification deadline is.. </p>
<p>the applications for the other banks aren't that hard though, just a cover letter and resume and some personal info.. hopefully we'll be hearing back from SEO soon though!</p>
<p>No, its just that in my super-optimistic mind-set I was thinking if <em>crosses fingers</em> I got into SEO then I may have reduced the I-Banks I could intern at if I was unsuccessful when applying through my school.</p>
