SEO Phone Interview

goldman's deadline for what? I talked to a recruiter and he said application for internships are due mid january.

if you mean the scholarship for excellence I cant apply cause I am Asian...which is not a real "minority" apparently for them...lol. jk.

i went to a goldman diversity event on dec 1st and there they said the deadline for summer analyst applications was december 15th.. i'm not sure if that's just for the excellence thing but i got the impression that it was for all summer analyst positions. i also spoke to a recruiter after the event and they said that the deadline was for all summer analyst positions so i've already submitted mine and that interviews would start the beginning of january. i'm not sure though ..

my school's goldman deadline was on dec 11th

Hey everyone, I've got a quick question--
I applied 12/2 and haven't heard back at all. No phone interview even...
This doesn't seem normal. Is there a modicum of chance by now?
I'm from around the San Francisco area.

i guess its different for everyone. Goldman told me mid january, and my school has it mid january too.

But SEO is a lost hope for me i think.

So i finally bit the bullet and decided to post here...

Like many, I had an in-person at the beginning of the month and am still waiting to hear back.

Does anyone know of any message boards outside of this one that also have discussions about hearing back from SEO?

idk about SEO anymore....i applied in friggin first week of October

STILL NO PHONE INTERVIEW!!!!! ***!!!!! AM I TOTALLY FINISHED?

Don't lose faith guys- stay strong! After all, SOMEONE has to get accepted, so why not us? :)

Anything about the in person interview? How was it? Whad they ask? What program did you apply to? I have mine January 23rd

Looks like they may be actually following the schedule they have on the website pretty strictly this time around;

SEO Career Program :: Deadlines and Application Timeline

The in person isn't too tough as long as you're adequately prepared. Basically know the area you want to work in thoroughly (AM for me), know "exactly" why you want to work there, and "exactly" why you want to be in the seo program. The more in-depth and specific your answers, the better. Be ready to do some mental math w/out pen or paper (i was asked to compute 17 percent of 1800). And there's typically a case question from left field that you can't really prepare for. Basically know what you want to do, and be able to think on your feet.

But yea, we may not be hearing back on final decisions until January after all.

Thats weird. I applied first round, had my phone interview in november, but just got my notification that I can pass on to the in person, and the earliest I can schedule that is the 21st. Did I get passed onto the second round or something?

I applied to IB. My interview was similar to braintrust's- not particularly difficult.

I'm guessing they're still working with the banks to see how many slots they can get at each firm, and they don't want to start accepting many people unti they have that nailed down. Most firms have pushed back their own recruitment timelines compared to last year and it looks as though, internally, they are still waiting as long as possible to decide how large they want their intern classes to be.

This may seem obvious, but basically I'm not planing on hearing back until the 15th or 23rd.

I applied for IB Research. I was looking at the Webinar today, and for one of the last slides (page 13, with the header "You're Hired!") it says "SEO-IB Rsearch-Equity-Healthcare." Was this just an example of what you'll be doing, or is SEO's IB-Research specifically for the Healthcare indutry?

IBs cover basically all industries and I'm sure this was just an example of what you may encounter in the IB research internship.

Has anyone received a phone call after the in person interview

anyone else can share in-person interview experiences?

Sounds like the trickiest part may be the quick math/case question. Finding percentages seems like a routine question?

Should I get the vault guide to finance interviews to prepare? Or just pretty much know the markets? Seems like the inverview wasnt that finance oriented...although they might make it that way for people interviewed later to weed them out (my interview is in January...)

Bump length

I applied for round 1 (Oct. 31 deadline, if I remember correctly) for IBD. I had my interview a couple weeks after that. However, I have not heard from SEO either way if I got it or not...

Is anyone else in the same boat (and not necessarily those that applied to IBD...what about you guys that applied to asset management etc.) or is it just me??

from what i understand, everybody from round 1 is supposed to hear back on the same day, which i think is on jan 15th.
