September 2015 ACT Curve

English was really easy. Math was a little hard but nothing terrible. Reading wasn’t too hard but I ran out of time. Science was slightly harder than usual.
How much do you think I’d get if I got 6 wrong on reading?

So most of you thought the reading was slightly harder if anything?

how much for -9 on reading

@idkName yes the passages for science on the most recent exams changed from 7 to 6 passages

English: Easy, had about extra 8 min at the end to review.
Math: Average/not hard, maybe about 5 harder ones but think I got half of those right maybe. 5 min left at end
Reading: Easy, 5 min left
Science: Mod Easy. 5 min left

@16jpatel ~26.

english overall was pretty easy - like usual
math was evidently harder… more tough questions and time consuming… last 1 was extremely dificult
reading was fairly easy, but didnt manage time well and ran outta time
science was surprisingly easy for me… i usually barely make it on time AND get like a 30… this time i finished with 5 min to spare… prob 32

English - normal - thought that it wasn’t that hard but it wasn’t extremely easy either…
Math - pretty easy - okay I heard the math section was really hard for some people but for my friend and I (who are more math people and regularly score 34-36 on practice math sections) finished with less extra time than usual.
Reading - thought it was okay but because of the time constraint I couldn’t finish in time! One of the passage’s questions were really long and I couldn’t finish in time because of that
Science - normal - idk? I was able to finish in time with a little bit of time to spare but there were a couple questions which I wasn’t really sure about…

Who knows maybe the curve will help us? I really hope my reading score isn’t too low because last time I took it the reading section brought my whole composite down…

Do you guys change a lot of answers when you recheck your work when you have extra time or do you usually just end up going with your original choice?

@EcSkater usually the latter! i think when you recheck your work you start trying to convince yourself your original answer is wrong because you want to try to catch something when you check your work. that’s just my theory :stuck_out_tongue:

I went back and changed 2 reading questions (correctly I am positive). But usually none.

English - normal
Math - normal (though the last few questions were slightly more challenging than usual…)
Science - Super, super easy. I was really surprised.
Reading - normal, but I was also pressed on time and only had like 5 mins for the last passage.

I had form 73D.

No, they are different questions.

Here’s how mine went… I finished the math and english with 20 minutes left in each. Nobody believes me, but that’s the way that it went. I skipped the tough math problems the first time through and had 5 tough/long questions left after 29 minutes and knocked them out one by one over the following 10 minutes. English, I just felt prepared. Science and Reading seemed notably difficult compared to my March ACT. That time, I left two science questions blank and got a 34 on the section and I finished the reading with a minute to spare. Different story this time, I had to guess on 3 or 4 science questions and my proctor called 5 minutes as I was finishing reading passage 3. The last passage was a scramble of all scrambles. I’m expecting 35-36 on math, especially since y’all seem to expect a friendly curve. Probably 34-35 English. 29-32 on science, I’d guess, and 27-30 on reading.

PS: I’ve always excelled in math. My friend who is also an excellent math student had to leave 5 blank in that section. I imagine there will be a nice curve

English-normal
Math- normal (though there were a few questions that i was super lucky to find out)
Reading-hard
Science-normal/hardish

Does anyone want to make a numerical curve prediction?

I thought it was pretty standard besides the last ~10 on math. My guess would be english is a straight curve, science will probably jump from 36 to 34, reading might be slightly generous (-1 36) and math will probably be fairly generous (any chance of -2 being a 36 on math, I believe Ive seen this on a past test?) 33 last time hoping for a 34 but math may prevent that.

Here are my June scores for comparison: English 35, Math 33, Reading 34, Science 31.

E: Same as last time. Had 5 min left over after checking answers twice, so maybe it was easier.
M: also the same, but didn’t have enough time to check all my answers. Not sure if I did better or worse, but no hard questions for me. Just unsure because I don’t feel safe unless I check all my work.
R: About the same, but I had to rush through the last passage. Probably a little harder? Surprised that I got a 34 last time anyway.
S: was always hard for me to begin with. Finished the last question in the last few minutes and very briefly checked the questions that were hard for me. I think I will do about the same as last time- but in June I had to guess on 2 or 3 of them. This time I did not.

what would missing 10+ be for this math section? I was doing swell until the last 10 problems where I got half of them but then the other half, I guesstimated…

English: extremely easy; had 15 min left
Math: barely finished, -1 or 2 probs
Reading: Didn’t finish had to guess for 4-5 problems, it’s usually one of my best
Science: Hardest; it’s always my worst so I don’t expect much
