September 2015 ACT Curve

Got a 34 this June, didn’t think there’d much improvement left, and guess I was right…Didn’t prepare for this at all, so…it was not good.
English: Fairly easy. I think it’s pretty good.
Math: Forgot to bring my calculator, which really sucked. Questions were a tad harder than usual, but I was still able to finish with several minutes left. Questions are more Precalc oriented this time around which really surprised me. It used to be pure Algebra II. Not that bad after all, definitely not impossible.
Reading: A lot of extraneous details, took me literally CENTURIES to go back and find answers. Almost ran out of time, finished last passage within 5 minutes. I think it was harder than usual.
Science: I struggled a bit. I’m really inconsistent when it comes to science. I scored a 30 on my April test and got a perfect 36 on my June test. I really don’t have that much saying in this regard, and I had to guess on three Bio questions (since I never took Bio) and semi-guess on another one. I miscalculated my time so I thought there was ten minutes left when there was actually only five, so I really rushed it. Probably just me, but I think it is kinda hard.
Overall: Not my best, but definitely my last

My son heard from a friend that the math curve on the June ACT was much more generous than usual. Five wrong in math still got you a 34 or 35. The friend had heard from his tutor that the ACTs are getting more difficult and to expect a similar curve on this test. Can anyone confirm this with the June ACT. My son felt good about all the Saturday sections except math, where it took longer and he had to guess on a couple. He’s been getting 35s on math practice tests. He said a lot of kids in his room complained about the timing and difficulty on this math section, and he felt he was in better shape than most.

@nwmomtothree That would be absolutely fantastic if that were to be the math curve

@nwmomtothree I can confirm that the June ACT had a generous curve, especially on the math section. I’ve seen the official grading chart for the June exam.

If the June math curve was generous, what do you guys think September’s curve will be like since most people seemed to think it was harder?

They give out curves on the ACT?

English: Super easy. I’ll be surprised if I don’t get a 36.
Math: Okay. I finished and had time to go back to a question or so I was uncertain about. Hoping to break my 34-streak.
Reading: Harder than usual, but I finished on time.
Science: All good except for one question.
Writing: Eh… Okay, I guess. I didn’t like the prompt.

English: Much easier than actual and practice ACTs I’ve taken… I was really shocked by how confident I felt with English afterwards… Due to my confidence after English, I was feeling pretty confident for the rest of the test… but…
Math: Harder than usual! I usually get around a 33-35 on Math, but I honestly feel like I might have hit high 20’s instead this time… I’m very disappointed with my performance and the fact that I ran out of time just made me frustrated considering I usually have 15 minutes remaining! Running out of time and 15 minutes remaining is quite the difference! I was so shocked by the level of difficulty of math this time…
Reading: seemed normal, just like previous practice tests I’ve taken, but I’m not much of a critical reading person… I’m a very math and science oriented person
Science: not hard, not easy… seemed similar to the level of difficulty of previous ACTs
Writing: new format, but writing was normal… nothing new but the format haha…

Does anyone know when results are coming out ?

Multiple choice score should be coming out September 25th  @bhwbqhfb3owi

Can you give us any more information about the June “curve?” Was it more generous in all subjects or just math? I’ve been told to expect a similar curve on this test because the September and June tests were written and tested together about a year ago.

results come out September 25 for everything but the writing

@pinkish21 The June curve was like this:
English 36 74-75; 35 71-73; 34 70…
Math 36 59-60; 35 57-58; 34 56…
Reading 36 40; 35 39; 34 38…
Science 36 39-40; 35 38; 34 37
Reading wasn’t particularly lenient, but the others were pretty generous.
This curve was for June form 73C though. Idk about the other forms.

What time do the results come out on September 25th?

I think it’s at 12am (central time) tomorrow morning

5am central apparently

Hi TheWaffelMan, Where did you learn that it would be 5am CT - in the past it has been midnight CT as glassflowers said.

This is from the ACT website: “Important Notice: Due to scheduled maintenance, web services will not be available beginning at 11:00 p.m. (Central Time) Thursday. Please try back after 5:00 a.m. (Central Time) Friday. We apologize for any inconvenience.” I hope this helps! @1stimer

They posted on the ACT registration website that the website’s down for maintenance from 11pm to 5am so the earliest scores will be up is tomorrow, 5am

Arghhhh! technical difficulties! Really?!?!? Thanks (You’re NOT!)FailinginLifeSince98! I’m sure you deserve a better user name
Crazy to set an alarm to check scores in the middle of the night?
