I don’t know if this has been asked already, but how much has the ACT changed since Oct 2014???
I think I’ll be taking the Sept ACT and I’m really scared I’ll score much lower.
Also do you think I should even take the Sept ACT if I got a 33? If I superscore I’ve gotten 35 or 36 for all subject except Reading (28-29). I’m worried that it’ll look bad b/c I’m an international, but I’m not too confident that I’ll do better on this test either.
I took the Oct 2014 ACT and got a 30, and the next time I took it (April I think) I got a 27. I was really bummed out, hoping to improve this time.
@Bizziee You do not need to retake. Do you have a Writing Score?
For the essay, would you guys just write about the perspectives in the three bodies and then state what you support in your conclusion or would you state what you side with in your third body?
I just make my own perspective or use a one given and analyze it why its better than the others. In addition to that, write a body paragraph criticizing one or two of the perspective given (the ones you disagree with.)
Does anyone have any practice tests?
@HereToHelpYou i got 8 for all three tests i took.
I’m leaning more towards not taking it. I don’t think i can bear taking another 4 hr standardized test.
Does anyone have links to any officially released ACT practice tests? A lot of the ones I found were duplicates. I have already done 2007-2008, 2005-206, and 2011-2012 and I only have 2012-2013, and 2015-2016 left. I’m pretty sure everything in-between in a duplicate. Has anyone seen any other different ones?
@TheWaffleMan149 I just PMed you
Thank you @reDIOS I will probably go back and revisit the Real ACT Prep Book tests. I suppose I have gone through all of the content of the Preparing for the ACT tests.
@Bizziee you are set then, put the ACT behind you.
@reDIOS if you have any Tests from 2014 or 2015, can you PM me too?
I’ve 16 days to go before the test and this is what I’m scoring right now:
E: 28-29
M: 34-36
R: 19-20
S: 30-31
I need at least a 33 to be considered for some scholarships which are really important to me.
I’ve got nothing else to do these 16 days and all I am going to do is study for the ACT. How do I take on Reading? I can’t even finish the third passage in time. Fiction is a nightmare.
I have solved English sections from 12 released tests, but the scores remained constant. I find the Eng questions easy, but I always end up with 8 or 9 wrong ones. How do I improve on English?
Does anyone know anything about how lenient the September ACT curve typically is? My ACT tutor said that the September curve is usually more neutral because of the kids taking it for the first time, and the kids that have already taken it several times.
Can someone please explain what the new essay format is? I’m a little confused, thanks
Could anyone send me any ACT practice tests they have? Thank you:)
Your tutor is a dummy. The ACT is a standardized test, so the tests have to be equal no matter when you take it.
However, there are easier tests than others, but the scales account for that. Easy tests, you lose points faster. Hard tests, you don’t lose points as fast.
Sept can be easy, medium, or hard. You won’t know until you take it.
@reDIOS could you pm me any tests you have, recent or old, thanks in advance.
@TheWaffleMan149 What do you mean by a more neutral curve? You should ask your tutor during which month the curve is more generous lol.
She meant that there aren’t skips in the curve @16jpatel
