Official Sept. 16 ACT Reflection

How it go?

English was harder than Normal. Math seem to have a little more word problems. Reading was about right. Sciecne seemed a little easy.
Anyway, I am hoping for:
E: 28, or 29
M: at least a 32
R: 29, or 30
S: 28

this was my first one.
i agree with the above. but writing went by so fast! maybe because i'm a slow writer. how much did you guys write? like 4-5, even 6 paragraphs? I used mechanical pencil for everything except essay... hope that doesn't hurt? i borrowed #2 pencil for essay just in case i get points taken off. anyone know if mechanical or #2 matters? i'm very worried...

no........

i think everything went well except my science....i guessed on 4

is the english score combined with the writing to create the english score or is the writing justby itself

writing is just by itself

good...i think science is going to kill me.....

3rd time's the charm, I hope. I'm not planning on retaking it so if I did worse, that's too bad XD

Hoping for a 36 Reading, 34 English, 29 Science, 27 Math for a composite of 32 (my expectations are kind of low but they're realistic for me and my shoddy math skills XD). My essay this time was definitely a LOT worse, I'm thinking I probably got a 10 at highest... =/ Oh well. I guess if worse comes to worst and I'm in the single-digits, I can self-report my AP scores to a couple schools that are reaches lol (I got a 5 in AP Lang last year).

YAY FOR FINALLY BEING DONE TAKING THE ACT throws confetti :)

Didn't do so well at all.

My god.. math was way too hard...way too hard. (for me)
Science was definitely easy...

anybody know when we can start discussing questions?

Yes, I agree. English was definitely harder than normal-- I think they threw in a couple new types of questions. Math was about the same, Reading was a little on the harder side (Whirlwind passage, anyone?), and Science was slightly easier than normal with the exception of the last passage. The essay topic was good in my opinion.

I am kind of suprised that they did not have any "omit the underlined portion" question on the english test.

English and Science = Really hard.

Glad I am not the only one who thought that science was easier than usual. I actually finished the section this time around.

Hoping for a 32 composite

Is it just me, or did not a lot of people take the Sep ACT. I know it is only offered in so many states but still, this forum is practically a ghost town.

The math was harder than usual in my opinion... i didnt even finish! and i usually do.... english was also a bit harder ya...and reading and science was kinda easy... hoping for a 32...but the damn math messed me up!

There were so many out of state people at the high school I went to, including myself. But all in all, there really weren't that many people there. My usual test center for the ACT has like 1000 kids taking it. I would say this test center had around 200ish today.

I can't really say how I did today.

Normally, I would be able to say if I did good on this section but bad on that section. This time...I'm just like...blah..

English wasn't too bad. Science was easier.

I didn't finish Math. I didn't read the last two problems. I just filled in bubbles. I hope I did good. Usually, I score the highest on this section. :(

Reading was okay. I didn't read the second paragraph carefully. There was distracted with music playing from the next room and a cell phone vibrating. But I hope I did good.

I don't think I did bad, but I don't want to raise my hopes up.

Do you think the ACT people made it harder on purpose? My mom was saying that they probably did because people spend time studying for the ACT over the summer...which I somewhat did...(not really.)

Edit:

We didn't start until like nine. I had to move to three different rooms before we could begin. -.- Oh well. At least it's over.

from easy to harder: science, english, reading, math

at least for me...

i thought the science was a lot easier than normal

english was about the same as the practice tests i took.

and for some reason reading and math were harder than I expected. I had to guess on the last couple of questions because I ran out of time. I think for reading I got stuck on the whirlwind passage and then math there were too many confusing word problems, and not enough of the simple questions they had in princeton review or the real ACT book
