***SEPTEMBER 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

LET’S DO THIS BOYZ@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

About to get that 36!!!

are we able to discuss test questions after the test?

I’m not sure about the booklet but I can help you out a little regarding the timer. On the ACT website, it says that no watch/timer that makes any noise is permitted. So if you wear a digital watch and manually keep track of it using the minutes, then you should be fine. Let’s all do this tomorrow! Veni vidi vici!!

@tiestocolors for the most part, the science passges/ graphs/tables will be on the left page of the test booklet and the questions on the right. So, you wont have to flip back and forth much. And there are simple videos on youtube that teach you how to disable the sound of your watch. And the timing is really strict. If they catch you working after time has been called, they have to cancel your test

Good luck to everyone taking the test tomorrow!!! Hope you guys get da 36

@clichescreenname Now where does it say that on the ACT website that no watch/timer that makes any noise is permitted? Alarms obviously aren’t, but if you are resetting your watch in between sections of the test and it beeps 2-3 times, I don’t see why there should be any problem…

This is gonna be my first test, can you use sports watches or like fitbits?

  • When the proctor calls time, do they pause for at least a couple seconds? Or say Pause, go to the next section immediately
  • When the proctor calls time on a section before a break and you go like 5 seconds over will that be noticed

When the proctor calls time he/she will tell you to put you pencils down and may tell you some instructions for the next section or what to do if you are about to go on break. Good luck tomorrow! You should probably start getting rest now instead of worrying about it as I should.

@nitin777 if it doesn’t make any sound it should be okay. The simpler the watch the better

@blargenshmargen “…A watch to pace yourself. Do not bring a watch with an alarm, because it will disturb other students. If your alarm sounds during testing, you will be dismissed and your answer document will not be scored. The supervisor in standard time rooms will announce when you have five minutes remaining on each test.”

I advise you to read over this list to make sure you aren’t forgetting anything

@blargenshmargen oh my bad, now I see what you’re saying. my apologies. I don’t see why not a watch with sound would not be permitted

I love how positive everyone on this thread is. I needed to see this. My test scores had gone down early this week and I was trying not to psych myself out, but today I took a full practice test (homeschool luck that I had time) and I achieved a personal best, so I’m pumped.

I’m taking it in a school without air conditioning…it’s going to be hot and we’ve had a bunch of thunderstorms today, so…yeah, getting up early and lousy weather. Yay. Time to go pack my stuff.

Excelsior, good luck, and God bless! See you on the other side of the test!

2nd time taking it since February! Should be a blast, excited to be finally done and focus on senior year. This is basically a leave it all on the table test as this will be the last time I am taking this. Remember to breathe, relax, and be confident with your answer choices. See you guys later!

Get plenty of sleep y’all! Good luck!

Good luck everyone! Time to hit the road to the test center!!

how was the test??

@collegebound11x the test hasn’t started in the West Coast, but I don’t know about others in different areas of the country… I think the people in the central or the east coast are in midst of their tests right now. Hope it’ll be easy so I can breeze right through it

West coast going in!
