I just wanted to start this since I just took the June test yesterday and thought it was harder than usual.

So, like many of you, I'm going to retake it on September 27, 2013.

Discuss what you're going to do to prepare for it and what your predictions are for your scores.

I'm likely to buy the red book, cracking the act, and barron's 36 and use them as a combination. Oh, lets not forget, waste my summer doing so. Thoughts?

I’m also going to use Cracking the ACT, Barron’s 36, 1296 Princeton, and use any of the .pdf’s that are available. At least that’s what I’m planning to do… I’m aiming for a 33+. The June test crushed my hopes and now I no longer feel so confident or motivated.

I guess now I know that over preparing would be best since this one was extremely difficult. But are the national tests usually more difficult than state (school)? I feel a bit scared too, but with enough practice and bit of luck, I think we’ll get what we want. What was your previous score?

Think I’m going to take the October test, which will be my final test most likely. But anyway, I’m reading Barron’s ACT English Reading and Writing & Math and Science Workbooks, then Cracking ACT (Possibly 1296) Then ACT 36 & Real ACT. After allll that I’m going to take a test in Real ACT and see what I need to raise, work on that take another test etc. That seemed like a pretty good strategy to me

I felt like the June test was weirdly difficult. But then again I did have a mini panic attack during English (MY BEST SECTION NORMALLY), that threw me off the rest of the test. The weird part is that I have never freaked out before on a test in my life.

@kappau i think you should take a couple of tests from the redbook as you keep on reading from the other tests so you can keep progress. BUt otherwise, seems like a good idea. but why aren’t you going to take the september test?

@mockingjay i feel you. i panicked during the math section which is my best subject lol. butt definitely thought it was oddly difficult. I just hope ACT is not doing that to compete with the SAT

@ketann I might, I just thought an extra month of studying would be good. I’m taking this class at out local college which is a real pain, taking up alot of the time that I could be studying ACT. So I actually have more during the year to study haha

I got 3 books for AP Bio, AP Human Geo + tons of homework. Then I got Ap Calc homework. Man…
I find time somehow. Are national ACTs suppose to be harder than state? And what are you looking forward to get? Subscores too.

Yea, honestly I’m just waiting for the books to come in the mail first And you’re confusing me, is the september one international and october state or something? Also I’m looking to get E ~31 M ~33 R ~31 S ~33 C: 32 Those are really my goals that I’m giving myself however I’d like to get higher than that. I’m expecting about a 27 on my last one so it’s a pretty big jump, but it’ll be worth it if I get close or even if I just get in the 30s. It will be well worth it for me, and I think I can do it. Why do you recommend Sept. over Oct.?

National is the one wevjust took on june 8. And like september and october. State is the one you take in school. An I say take it september and october. More test, more experience, more (and possibly better) scores, more college options.
