September Dreams

Now that we've passed the dreaded doom's-day of March 10, I was wondering if anyone else was beginning to have strange/foreboding dreams of going into the whole "BS environment" in the fall. As you can tell, I mimicked the former thread, "March 10th Dreams", also mimicking its light-hearted topic, allowing us to each vent how we're feeling within these next few enclosing months. I know that I, for one, have already had quite the dream of my first day at Exeter...very odd. So, with that being said, I guess I will just go ahead and share mine to start things off.

Well...basically, the dream of my first day was a giant blur of humor, languor, and a surprising amount of simplicity. To start, I came in to unexpectantly meet two of my close friends...who happen to live about 1000 miles away from Exeter, at the front door to my first class. They had apparently already been in attendance there for a week (??) before I got there. So, with that, they basically showed the ropes, and around the school. It was weird because I only remember having one core class that I went to...and the bulk of my class was made up of former middle school classmates of mine, once again coming from a distance of 1000 miles. For the rest of the day I had that same teacher (who was my interviewer and works in admissions) teach all of my classes...except they weren't really classes. The majority of my first day was basically spent hanging out by the barn (which I don't even think Exeter has), and riding all the horses around the acreage. It was like all of my classes molded into "The Equestrian Club", the catch being that the "horse" I was stuck with was an extremely large pig. Yes, a pig. I spent the entirety of my first day at Exeter riding around on a pig...which they later told me was only there so that they could cut it up to make meatloaf (!?). I was so astounded and saddended at the thought of is! After spending the entire day with the pig, a girl can become quite attached!...which is precisely what happened. I even named him! Herbert, I think it was. But anyhow...I refused to eat in the Dining Hall the night they were going to serve the "meatloaf", a delicacy they claimed to be one of the highlights of the school's year (in regards to the food served there), and was one of the best American Pig Meatloafs to be served in the country....I honestly don't know what this meant AT ALL...I'm not even a vegetarian! But, oh well...my dreams never seem to make much sense anyway.

Anyone else care to add their crazy/odd dreams or daydreams they may have had on the topic?
...And please, don't add to the thread to put anyone down, etc. The point of this thread is to help spread around a few laughs, possibly spark up a couple smiles to help counter-act these coming summer months of angst.

My first thought: seek professional help. Tomorrow.

In all seriousness: Most boarding schools forbid dreaming, so I'd get it out of my system. Why, when I was in school we were quizzed by the prefects every morning. The fools who admitted to it were forced to do atomic sit-ups, and were beaten with thin bamboo rods.

ummm..well..
I honestly have NOTHING to say about that dream..
hahahahha

uhh, I fear it will be very cold. I couldn't even walk without sliding and tripping in the ice when I looked at schools in January. I nearly fell at Groton on the road! My only worry is the cold!

um... o_O ... lol.

sball12, nice dream.....i m guessing since im done with school now, ill start having dreams....lol ill keep u posted
:p

i had a dream
that all of my girls high school athletics class (freshman-seniors)
was getting a tour of kent,
but our tour guide was our crazy athletics coach.
He was making us run all over the campus telling us to "Git after it" and "hi-yah up to the track",
so we're all running though campus,
up and down stairs,
and such in our "team gear",
when we stop at a dorm and the coach tells us to rest.
so me and my friends walk through the back door of the dorm
to somewhere that only exists in my dream,
and there was this huge field with one wind turbine in it,
so we start moving our hips in sync with the wind turbine,
and our coach tells us to "work those abdominals",
and these girls are looking at us from their dorm window.
then we went to the dining hall,
and my dream was over.

haha
it was funny

i have also had several other dreams that i dont remember..

Hmm. My BS dreams are not that weird, just scary.
I basically tend to have nightmares about failing BS and then going to some grungy small-town public high school, then community college, then working at Taco Bell :P.
Or I dream about getting caught doing something wrong and then get kicked out.
My dreams are not very elaborate, haha

2 dreams in my case, 1 in which I still am confused about that had mainly people that would never make it past scheduling an interview, my sister (who goes to the public school), and me being a clueless moron. All I can say is I'm really hoping that one doesn't come true, fortunately, I have much hope in that. The second though started out where I was playing soccer on a park district team and we were all wearing the glasses the kid from the Christmas Story had (but blue...) because there was a really nerdy kid on the team that we wanted to make feel better. Then at half time I walked over to a soccer field near ours and Exeter was playing and for some reason I got to do the throw-ins... So I had the ball and a pretty attractive guy who was wearing the Exeter uniform was making head motions for me to pass it to him so I just kept doing that. The best thing about the dream? It was an attractive guy that could play soccer as well as I wanted him to because drumroll it was my dream!

ok,my dream wow. I got to andover, and everyone was gorgeous and strutting about in prom dresses while i was in this mismatched ugly outfit. i was also late to andover because i missed the hogwarts express. and then i realised i was dreaming (which was really weird) and tried to wake myself up.

my dream was scrary, too. I couldn't fit in and got terrible GPA ->no more scholarship and the next thing i knew was that i was working in the school cafeteria as a cleaner....Gosh!!!!!

hey....do any of u play preseason sports? What is preseason sports exactly? Do I have to play preseason sports if i want to play in the fall? Do most students play sports?
Forgive me for my stupid questions since there's nothing like that at my place. Almost no sports at all.

Is it worrying that I don't have any BS dreams?

no shore...i bet u will have one later in the summer, but its nothing to worry about:)

i cant wait for mine

"Preseason" is where athletes who are participating in fall sports come to school 3-5 days before everyone else and have practices to prepare for the season. Most schools also use it as sort of a tryout. Ususally you have to be invited to participate, or a returning Varsity athlete.
There are formal tryouts as well after everyone is on campus.

I have had some but I do not remember them.

lol, I was joking about actually worrying bball prep but yes, it seems wierd everyone else has had one. I'm actually suprised you haven't had one bballprep!

How do you get invited, because when I visited Exeter, the soccer coach (Hilary Coder) wasn't able to meet with us. If we marked that we were interested in doing a sport when/will they contact you?

fun is fun:
Hah...don't worry too much, just about all of my dreams are like that. Oh. Maybe I should seek some help then, haha!
ballerinamazing:
"work those abdominals"!!bahah...lol!
shore:
They will come, believe me! They will come....not to sound too foreboding there, haha.

i know shore right.....the thing i keep having dreams about my school now and how much im gonna miss my friends.....but im waiting.....and trust me ill keep u posted :) cause we both know thats gonna be interesting!
