I'm going to Penn State University Park.

However, I hate football and I'm not fond of partying. Will I struggle to fit in?

Think. There's 5,000 incoming Freshman. do you think all of them are Drunken Jocks???

no only 4999 are since MightyNick seems to not be one.

No serriously I have a friend that does not drink and he fits in. The football thing is a different story though, basically I bet you will like football by october. Even if you don't there are students that dont decided to get tickets for whatever reason so people will still be around when there are games.

the football games are really just about liking football. its the enthusiasm and school spirit that everyone gets into. as long as you don't bash penn state football though, you'll be fine. and don't wear opposing team colors on game day. that's just asking for it...

lol obviously i wont' be wearing an opposing teams colors.

In my brochure i read that 20% of the undergraduates DO NOT DRINK. Is that true? If so, i'll be really freaked out!!!

I just wish I get a decent dormate....a guy who doesn't drink, party all night long, etc.

Did you ask to live in the LIFE House? Sounds like that might be a good fit for you.

MightyNick,

QUIT WORRYING....your going to Penn State!!!! youll find some of everybody....jus dont badmouth Penn State football or ppl will stop you (including me :))

Even if you don't like football, purchase the football season tickets when they are offered to the freshman online. If you don't you will be sorry later, and scrambling to get the tickets.

20% That's Still a Thousand People.

don't worry I've never Gotten Drunk Before, So I wouldn't say I like to drink. Then again I've never tried it so I don't know. I'm still gonna be nervous as hell when I go there since I know absolutely Nobody that attends there.

you guys fill me up with confidence. I just hope that i dont' have a nervous breakdown when i don't find a suitable friend for myself.

You guys may be shocked, but I have no clue how football is played, which is why i'm not interested in Penn State Football!! However, i will start to take an interest and support the PS football team.

I'm not sure if i'll be the season ticket though.

anyways, i have another question. WHY do i have to take a chemistry placement exam when i'm going into the Smeal School of Business?

Well I only recently started getting serious about football. Before that, I didn't know the rules, and of course, never followed important games (not even Superbowl) or my city's team. However, now looking back, I can't see living while not following the Philadelphia Eagles (and my secondary team of choice, the Atlanta Falcons) or the Nittany Lions. It's easy to become fascinated with this sport, and easy to appreciate how hard it is to play so well. I hope you learn to love football, afterall, this is football country!! :D

lol i agree. Football is by far the most popular sport here...even more than baseball. However, if i go to the games, i'll need someone to explain to me what the hell's going on!!! I'm sure i'll get the hang of it.

Also, yeah, you learn a lot about football by playing Madden on Xbox. :D

never played Madden but I gave Madden 2005 to my football loving cousin. Maybe i'll play it for the first time when i go to his house. :)
