Seriously?? How can this be right??

So, bear with me as I'm doing a great deal of venting right now.

If anyone can help me with this question of ethics, I'd greatly appreciate it.

If a relative working in a school's admissions office were able to secure you admissions regardless of your credentials (or lack thereof), would this in any way be considered ethical?

Here's an excerpt from this person's "acceptance letter":

"I talked to the director of transfer admissions this morning, I’ve got you all set, she’ll admit you!!!

She said even with the 15 credits and the low high school GPA, she’ll admit you for the summer/fall semester.

She said to apply and don’t pay the application fee.

She said for me to let her know when you submit your application so she can put your name aside and handle it so no one else gets it."

Thanks in advance.

There’s no need to ask if it’s ethical if it’s shoe-horning in an unqualified student.

But perhaps the school accepts a wide variety of students (whereby even mediocre GPA students are routinely admitted)

But even if you’re right-- sadly this happens in many areas of life. Try to get a drivers license in Lagos or something without a bribe – not gonna happen.

Life isn’t fair. This stuff happens quite a bit in every area of life. Not much you can do but ignore it and just worry about yourself.
