I was wondering if this was a mass e-mail sent to many FSU incoming freshman or if this Scholarship was truly sent to a handful of applicants. I am very appreciative of the opportunity, but if this same message was sent to 1000s of incoming freshman with only 12 available spots, then my chances at minimal at best. Thanks

I don’t see him being negative at all, just realistic. If they sent that email to 1000 people, that means he has a 1.2% chance of getting in. I got the email as well, and wondered whether or not they sent it to a lot of people too. You need to calm down and stop kissing FSU’s a$$. I’ve seen you on just about every thread on here and you always have something to say about how many clothes you ordered or that FSU is the best. People have the right to form their own opinions, like I just have. So calm down and give people room to think.

being realistic is the most common road to mediocrity. last time i checked the chances of making it to the NFL are 0.09%. THAT’S 9 OUT OF 10000. from college football, the chances are 2%, or 2 out of 100. do you realize how many people still work hard every day to even make it to the combine - even if they dont, they go on to a pro day at a college, and there’s that small chance that they get drafted. some even go undrafted, but talk to an agent to get them to where they need to be.

my point is although your chances are small, you will miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

Never once did he say he wasn’t going to apply, he just realized the chances aren’t that great, just like those football players. They know their chances aren’t great, but they still try.

Excluding any posted extraneous remarks and going back to my initial inquiry, can
anyone provide any accurate information regarding the viability of gaining
acceptance into this program? I thank everyone for their assistance.

Are any of you that are applying engineer majors? How well do any of you think that the requirements for service hours going to fit in with the class requirements for the chemical/biomedical engineering program? I’m wondering if it is worth it to apply if I need to give 75 hours more a semester with the x amount that I need to complete my undergraduate in 4 years. I do have credit for several aps, but they will only count for a few hours. Any advice? I’m just concerned that engineering + the service is going to overload so I won’t have time for other activities.
