Several Questions I Can't Find Answers To

I am having trouble scouting exact answers to these questions so I figured that I could ask here to see if anyone could answer them.

  1. If I were to enter FSU with a potential 12 credit hours from math?--Calc 2, 3, Differential Equations I, and Linear Algebra I. Would I have to drop either DifEQ or LA? Would I automatically start off with a minor in Mathematics?
  2. Do IB smaller level exams count for credit hours?
  3. If I would like to pursue a dual degree, would I have to stay another year or semester?

Just some curiosities of mine. Thanks!

This is a loaded question that your advisor would probably be best-equipped to answer. While you would have the courses for a Math minor, the department may have a requirement that you take at least 1 class at FSU or other requirements.

Yes.

The short answer is no. I did a dual degree in 4 years, and probably could have finished in 3 if I had really pushed everything.

The long answer is that it depends. It’ll depend on what two minors and majors you select, how the required courses line up, etc. If you don’t take summer classes, and don’t bring in a lot of test credit, you probably will need more than the standard 4 years to meet all of the requirements.

The IB question is available on line - just simply google “FSU IB credit” and it’s literally the first option.

For everything else, just call an advisor at FSU
