Sex - not allowed in campus?

Pearl, I don't think you understand how religious Pepperdine is. When you go there, you basically are agreeing to have them in your personal business. They don't condone premarital sex, and if they are anything like other Church of Christ colleges, if they find out that you are having sex, they will punish you big-time, or even kick you out. I personally know someone who was kicked out of a Church of Christ college for getting pregnant.

BYU is like that.

yeah, i have a friend who goes to Pepperdine...

that's all i have to say about that. that rule is a bunch of cripe.

and by crap i mean essentially doesn't exist.

well you know what they say...

Rules are meant to be broken.
Go for it Ttears!!!LoL

Remember, God is watching no matter what happens. You may get away with it at school, but on judgement day, look out!

hey Mactech lighten up a little. It would do you well to get laid!

MacTech, i really hope that was sarcastic...

I still don't understand how they could enforce a ridiculous rule like this unless they kept their students under 24 hours observation

The wonders of athiesm ;).

While I do not attent Pepperdine, I am at a major Christian school and I can tell you that we do strictly enforce our no extra/pre-marital sex policy, although I know such things still happen despite such policies.
Here, the first offense (which can be committed on or off campus if it is reported, although it is unlikely one would ever be punished if he/she had sex off-campus) gets a person a meeting with the Vice President for Student Life who draws up a new set of guidelines specifically for that student. Typically these guidelines are along the lines of not being able to take classes together for the next semester, not being able to step inside each other's appartments/dorms, and even being restricted from entering a living area of the opposite sex. In addition, one of the terms is [almost] always that a repeat of the offense will result in expulsion. Usually the probationary period is 1 semester.
I would guess Pepperdine might be similar, but who knows...

^ dayum.... these colleges do realize that their students are adults right?

I know that Pepperdine has strict visitation rules between sexes... so in this way they try to prevent premarital sex as much as possible. Not sure if they actually do enforce their no sex policy.

I almost applied to Pepperdine simply because of the location. Then I heard the stories and it was off my list so fast.

Pepperdine is a great school and you can't beat Malibu. The campus is incredibly gorgeous and the education is supposed to be worth the $$$. A lot of people can accept the strict rules for the other stuff you get, especially if they grew up with very strict parents.

i think kids who grow up with very strict parents generally get crazy when they're on their own. i know i will be.

Usually the only ones who don't seem to get wild are the ones who go to church a lot.

"Usually the only ones who don't seem to get wild are the ones who go to church a lot."

LMAO.. that is the most rediculous thing I've heard. If anything the ones that were forced to go to church alot are the ones that rebel by going wild once they get the freedoms of college.

my point. ^

Not the ones who are forced to go, the ones who go by choice...my bad for making that unclear.

FYI.. I chose NOT to go to church and I'm a responsible, law-obiding citizen. I don't think going to church on a voluntary basis has any baring making you a good person. Many serial killers still attended church
