I'm going to join the Pepperdine 2006 Fall MBA program and I just found out something horrible: You're not allowed to have sex in campus.

How is that possible? Does that mean that if you stay in a dorm room, you're never supposed to have sex in your student life? Or is this just a loose regulation that you can easily break?

I'm an international student and my english is a bit rusty at the moment. I haven't had the chance to practice lately, but I think it's unacceptable to get hammered like that for my language difficulties.

I'm sure it's needless to ask how good your greek is...

Look I just downloaded the graduate housing rules and NOWHERE did I see talk about sex ...........or sex in/on campus. Where did you see this. Since you identify yourself as ESL then I withdraw my comments are language. Your statements are kinda funny because I don't see it anywhere. Are you sure you read graduate housing? You said MBA which is a grad degree. My only Greek is ancient so not so good......

That is what I personally would call "propaganda" you know moral persuasion. That is an idea not a rule of the housing from the way I read the housing rules. It says stuff in housing about hours for visitors and such but no directions regarding sexual relations. Boy, you brought up a real laugher from my point of view. Got to hand it to 'ya. How'd you feel when you read that? I mean does it mean sex with self? hehehe couldn't resist that one.

I wonder how they patrol for this immoral behavior? Sex police in dorms and under bushes........BUSHES. Of course we all know that sex in "MotherB" Bancroft hall at The Naval Academy is against the rules also........Pepperdine is not alone on that one.

hazmat, thanks for the private msg which, by the way, showed how pathetic and sexually deprived you are. Sorry, but I'm a guy. And please, make sure you keep yourself and your stupid comments away from my threads in the future, cause you really lower the level.

Hazmat, you should stop acting like a jackass and actually admit you were wrong and apologize. Not only did you attack someone's English when English is not their first language (and Greece written in their location), you make fun of the OP for asking a simple question, especially since he or she is probably not familiar with US college customs.

from what i know, Pepperdine is a Christian school so they might be strict on rules such as no sex,etc... but then again they can't really enforce it.

I don't know about that, actually, Alcoholic. Pepperdine is associated with the Churches of Christ, which is an extremely conservative, fundamentalist Christian denomination. I don't know anyone who has gone to Pepperdine, but I do know people that have gone to Lipscomb, Harding, Florida College and Freed Hardeman, all of which are Church of Christ colleges, and all of these people have told me stories about people getting expelled from the school for having a sexual relationship. Notice I didn't say for having sex on campus. If they have any proof that you are sexually active, which is usually a pregnancy or being caught in the act, they will expell you for disobeying their code of conduct. Pepperdine is much more liberal as far as Church of Christ schools go, but I still think that if they thought you were having sex in your dorm room, they would definitely not turn a blind eye. At least the faculty who feel loyalty to the school rules.

That "rule" sounds a little bit more of a suggestion than a strict policy. I don't think you'd be punished for having sex privatly in your dorm room. If you get caught having sex somewhere else on campus, like a classroom somewhere.. yeah, maybe you'll get punished.
