SFS or McDonough?!?!?!

I sent in the personal data form saying that I would apply to the Walsh SFS, and then later sent in an email saying that I wanted it changed to McDonough School of Business.

Right now, I am still very confused to which school I want to apply. I know I am passionate about the field of business, but also about the international, global aspect. Walsh SFS is renowned for its international affairs programs, and the international economics concentration combined with the international business diplomacy certificate sounds perfect. It would also be a great background to graduate with a foreign service degree, and plus SFS has so much more prestige. However, going directly into a business concentration is another option at McDonough. What would be the better option?

Additionally, are we allowed to double major? Or cross major/ minor in two schools? Can I major in international business at McDonough but also minor in a concentration at SFS? If I apply to McDonough, will I be allowed to switch to SFS? If I am in McDonough, can I get the international diplomacy certificate even though it's a program under SFS?

HELP!

It sounds like you’re more passionate about business than foreign affairs. I’d go for McDonough if I were you then. It’s still ranked high for business schools, and you’ll be in DC where there’s lots of opportunities for business students. :)

With the new facilities, the McDonough school is expected to shoot up in the rankings.

Also, in response to your question about cross-majoring between schools, it is not possible to do so. But I think there is an international business major at McDonough.

Good luck!

International Business at McDonough. GTown’s business will be top 10 with new building for sure so you’re not really going to be a stepchild to SFS.

Please advise. What is the correlation between a building and rankings?

In terms of courseload is McDonough a particularly difficult school in terms of if your going to major in international business/finance.

Also how would compare it to Georgetown college in terms of hardness to get into?

The combo is easy and pretty commonplace. I don’t think its significantly harder or easier than the college, there are statistics somewhere I think.

The business school was really getting crushed in the facilities category, so it should automatically bump it up pretty significantly.
