SFSU Orientation

Hi all! I just have a question. I'm a transfer student looking to attend the Spring 2012 in SFSU. I wasn't able to sign up for an orientation and I'm worried that this might prevent me from being able to attend. It says on my admission status that a student must complete all requirements in able to attend. Now, that's the only thing on my student requirements that doesn't have a check. I emailed the school and they told me that I will still be able to register for classes, but I'll just have to wait til my priority registration date in January. I'm confused because on my registration status, there's a statement that says, "You must complete all new student requirements in the list below or you will not be able to attend. Completed items are checked." And that's the only thing that doesn't have a check. I'm just confused because it's a requirement to be able to attend and yet, the school told me that I will still be able to register for classes. Is attending/signing up for an orientation optional and does not attending/signing up for an orientation prevent me from being able to attend the school? I'm a little worried. Help will be much appreciated guys! Hope to hear from y'all soon. Thanks.
