Hey everyone! I have less then a month when I start at SC. I was hoping some of you could share your experiences as a transfer student. Maybe you could share your experiences and transitions from attending a community college to a 4 year university? Also, what major changes did you notice in terms of your academics? Although it's known that any 4 year college class is tougher then a community college class, are the classes significantly more demanding?

I haven’t transferred (yet) but I’ve been going through and reading the syllabus for many of the classes I plan to take and can tell from reading them that the amount and required quality of work is much more demanding versus a community college. You should consider doing the same to get a rough idea of what exactly will be involved. I can’t imagine I will have nearly as much time to sit around and relax since much of that time will be used up with additional studying and student life.

I transferred from a different 4-year university but I’ve taken plenty of classes at CC’s that for credit here at USC.

The classes will obviously be harder. But if you were smart enough to get accepted into USC you should be able to manage just fine =).

Don’t sweat it and enjoy your first semester.
