Share your secrets: How do you study? Our records show that you have never posted to

Over the past few years, I have discovered many people study in different ways.
I'm sure we all know those geniuses that don't seem to study a lot and yet still get their 4.0 gpa. So I ask you, how do you all study? And what school do you attend?

How I study:

Procrastinate until 11:00 PM on FB, CC, whatever.
Go up to my room. Climb in bed with homework.
Turn on music.
Attempt to do homework, but actually end up falling asleep at around 1:00 AM after listening to 2 whole albums of some of my favorite music groups.
Wake up at 6:30. Go to school and do homework before class.

This is seriously what it was like my junior year. And it was HELL.

It’s also why I probably failed the AP Chem exam.

Take this advice or leave it:

DO NOT study like me under any circumstances.

I attend a pretty good school. :)

5:30 - Arrive home
6:00 - Start homework
7:00 - Dinner
7:30 - Start homework again
9:00 - Finish homework
9:00 - 10:30 - Work on papers/projects and study for tests

Bedtime. :D

I get to school about an hour early and do some more schoolwork there.

after school until 9p.m.: LOL

9p.m.-11p.m.: do only the HW that’s due the next day.

It’s all cool, I still get all As :)

lol hopefully you guys don’t carry the same routine over to college

I’m having a one-month break. I attend an extremely competitive international school. My exams are immediately after that break.

I study anywhere from 7.5-10 hours now.

On a normal school day, probably 5 hours.

How I study:

Get home from school at whatever time.
Eat something.
Go online and scroll through Facebook/talk to friends on AIM
Eat a little more.
Complain to friends on AIM that I need to start studying
Continue the complaining
Attempt reading notes at ~11:30 pm
Give up at ~11:45 pm
Continue on AIM
Sleep

-_- I just cant. Too many distractions and a lack of motivation

Puggly, you and me are in the same boat. My Junior year went mostly like this…

5:30 am-Wake up for school
7:00 am-Get to school and study before class
2:05 pm-School gets out and I stay after for Clubs/Studying
4:30 pm-Get home
7:30 pm-Wake up from my 2 hour after school slumber
8:00 pm-Proceed to screw around on FB, CC, watch TV, whatever
11:00 pm-Ask myself “WHAT AM I DOING” and begin homework
1:55 am-Tell myself I am going to sleep for 5 minutes till 2 am, but I never wake up

wash, rinse, repeat.

puggly, that is almost exactly what I do! god, i feel like i failed myself so badly junior year. Supposed to be the year you study your ass off… i did less than sophomore year. Either I was really really worn out or I just was really lazy… i think the latter.

The only thing is that I have an amazing ability to wake up when I need to. It was almost scary… I’d fall asleep at 12, and wake up at 6 if I had homework, 4-5 if I had a big project/test, or sleep through till 7 if I could manage the homework in class. Never, ever failed me the entire school year.

HAHA, I thought I was the only one that lazy!

7-12:22: School.

Get home and eat/screw around until 2:00.

Take a 2-3 hour nap.

Browse Facebook/CB/CollegeConfidential

Watch the news and eat dinner at 6:30.

Screw around some more until 9:00.

Work for like an hour or two, tell myself I’ll wake up early and finish, but NEVER do.

My parents have a no television policy to conserve time, and yet I waste so much time anyway. It depresses me sometimes how my goals are so academically based and yet I put such little effort in.

Once I come home I go straight to sleep until about 11 pm. I eat, watch TV, surf the web, and at about 5 AM I rush to cram all of my homework and studying in 2 hours. On most days I spend my time in class doing homework for the next class, and end up missing the day’s material. This occurs from Monday to Friday, and I catch up on all of the missed material on Sunday night or Monday morning.

It’s absolute hell, and I am probably so sleep deprived that I’ve lost several years from my lifespan, and somehow my instinct is to procrastinate harder. I heard somewhere that this kind of sleep deprivation due to procrastination eventually becomes like a drug for people. And strangely enough, there’s a small sense of pleasure that comes from being tired to the point of hallucinating and trying to type a 5 page essay. But of course, the next 12 hours make me want to kill myself.
