Sheets/Beds in dorms

I received a flyer/booklet in the mail today, advertising sheets and comforters specially made for the beds in dorms at UF. It claimed that regular sheets do not fit the dorms' beds, and that these were "guaranteed" to do so.

Is this true? I'd just like to find out before I consider ordering sheets from them.

I was actually wondering the same thing. According to UF's website, the mattress size would be 80" long x 36" high x 7" thick, which is slightly longer than normal mattresses. If you google "college dorm sheets," you can find other companies that sell similar products.

Don't buy the sheets that they advertise...they pill (get knubby) and they aren't soft. Just buy twin extra long fitted sheets from any bedding store (both bed, bath and beyond and linen's and things have them).

Why do you get responses and I don't? =P

Thanks for the advice though. I was worried that other "dorm" or "extra-long" bedding wouldn't do, but you seem to say it will.

i don't even think extra long is necessary. I just used regular twin size sheets. The extra long seemed to be too big on my dorm mattress

What about for the comforter?

You can get a standard twin OR a full/queen. We got my daughter a queen so that it hung down to the floor on either side of her bed, hiding the boxes and stuff that she stored under the bed!

I personally recommend Linen and Things, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, or JCPenny. I know the two former generally have 20% off deals and have a wide selection of styles.
