<p>Yes, it will be cut off. The short answer limit is 1000 characters including spaces and the Common App will cut it off at that point.</p>
<p>In terms of the main essay, although the common app says 250-500 words, there is no actual cut-off and most schools will read what you send in (although you should try keeping it as close as possible to the limit)</p>

<p>For your short answer, please be sure to do a “Print Preview.” Even if your answer is within the specified limit, words might still be cut off in the final product!</p>
