Short essay word count.

Hey,

I'm sure everyone's working hard on their applications right now.

As for me, I am completing the short essay that requires you to write about the significance of an extracurricular or summer activities "in the space provided." Now, I'm looking at the corresponding section of the common app. for a guide, which puts a word limit of 150: Mine is currently somewhere along the lines of 300.

What does everyone think about this word count? (As in, not my word count but a guess on how many words the school's looking at.)

Cheers,

Cut it down! Try to get it at 150+

Ohh really? So it’s pretty much like the corresponding section on Common App huh.
Well, thanks for letting me know!

Btw, should we keep this essay very(!) objective? (almost like a further explanation on the EC we put down, as opposed to an “essay” in the traditional sense?)

Kevin

Mine’s 145-ish. I just used my common app essay, and it’s purely objective.

My other two essays are pretty essay-ish, and they aren’t too short either (800/450 word), so I didn’t want to overdo that one.

God…I better get it down to 150 AND make it objective haha.
Mine was a mini personal essay on my favourite ECA, with about 300 words…work to do!

Thanks,
